My name is Brandon Grech. I currently serve as the Director & Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity at Anderson University (SC)‘s Center for Cybersecurity. I enjoy creating cybersecurity content that I wish I would’ve experienced when I was initially going through the rigor of learning and breaking into the field of cybersecurity. Brandon P. Grech is the Director and Assistant Professor at Anderson University’s Center for Cybersecurity. Brandon has created and currently teaches classes such as: Security with Linux, Cryptography, Programming for Security, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Digital Forensics, and Ethical Hacking. Brandon also serves as the cybersecurity competition coach where the students compete in national CTF competitions, such as the National Cyber League (NCL). Brandon’s students are extremely competitive on the national level.
He received his Ed.D. from Liberty University where he researched undergraduate cybersecurity education at Christian institutions. He also has a MS in Cybersecurity and a BS in Computer Networks & Security.
He has prior teaching and cybersecurity exercise development experience at CERT/SEI/Carnegie Mellon University. Brandon served six years in the United States Air Force. His last assignment at Joint Base Andrews was performing cybersecurity for Air Force One and other aircraft. Brandon has authored 100 Linux Commands and created 316ctf, a free online cybersecurity CTF program for middle-school and high-school students. Brandon’s research interests include cybersecurity education, cybersecurity competitions, network security, and technology safety.
Brandon is married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Sarah. They have four buccos, Jennifer, Jayna, James, and Josie. They also have a boxer dog. Brandon enjoys coaching his kids basketball teams, DIY projects, enjoying the upstate SC mountains, and feeding birds. Brandon is on the board of his local church and had the opportunity to share his faith at an Anderson University Chapel in 2025.
